Accessibility
A platform for African women must work for every African woman — on any device, at any connection speed.
We design and build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our working standard, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing practice rather than a one-off audit.

All interactive elements are reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator, a skip-to-content link, semantic landmarks, descriptive headings and ARIA labels where needed.
Text and interface colours are chosen to meet minimum contrast ratios, and colour is never used as the only way to convey meaning.
Content reflows to 320px width, text can be resized to 200% without loss of function, and line lengths and spacing are set for readability.
Animations are subtle and respect the operating system's reduced-motion preference, which disables non-essential movement.
Video is embedded with privacy-enhanced players and controls. Captions and transcripts are provided for LWA-produced video and webinars where available.
Pages are optimised for mobile-first delivery, images are compressed and lazy-loaded, and core content is readable without heavy assets.
We write in plain English and are expanding multilingual content across the continent's major working languages.
Third-party embeds, uploaded documents and partner-supplied content may not always meet our standard. We work with contributors to remediate issues as they are identified.
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, tell us through the contact page. Include the page, your device and assistive technology, and we will respond and prioritise a fix.
