Leading Women Investment Fund Initiatives
Mobilising Women's Capital. Investing in Africa's Future.
Leading Women Investment Fund Initiatives is a Pan-African collective capital mobilisation platform developed under Leading Women of Africa (LWA) to enable African women, including the African diaspora, and aligned institutions to collectively mobilise, structure and deploy capital into commercially viable and high-impact opportunities across Africa.
The platform is designed to increase women's participation not only as entrepreneurs, but as investors, capital partners, consortium participants and economic stakeholders, while attracting institutional and international co-investment into Africa's strategic sectors.
Our long-term objective is to create structured investment initiatives through which capital can be mobilised and deployed responsibly into opportunities that contribute to investment, industrialisation, trade, infrastructure, value addition, economic empowerment and wealth creation.

From women’s economic participation to women’s capital participation
From Women's Economic Participation to Women's Capital Participation
Africa needs more women participating in the ownership and allocation of capital.
Across the continent and the African diaspora, women represent a significant pool of entrepreneurial, professional and private wealth. Yet this capital is not always organised or connected to structured investment opportunities.
At the same time, African women — including women in the diaspora — represent an important but under-mobilised source of capital.
The model identified three connected opportunities:
Africa needs capital.
African women need greater participation in investment.
Global and institutional capital is seeking credible African opportunities.
Leading Women Investment Fund Initiatives is designed to bring these three opportunities together.
